This is CBPA part two. Now all those things that they’ve been just issuing licenses to do in “rural” Loudoun, they want to establish some…ahem…guidelines. The Leesburg Today Article:
At the urging of Supervisor Jim Burton (I-Blue Ridge), who had concerns about some businesses in his district, namely a paintball complex, that had opened without any legislative review of its appropriateness for the area, the Board of Supervisors moved forward with the potential amendment of the uses to a minor special exception in 2010. The uses would require the legislative review in areas zoned agricultural, transitional and the Joint Land Management Area with the western towns.
If you haven’t been following this, it’s a great opportunity to see:
- What happens when one little nimby request gets in the hands of those with…um…different agendas and they play a part in writing the regs.
- exactly how stupid some of these proposals can get
- and also how important it is to nip things in the bud at the Planning Commission level.
