You have heard the media take on Freddie Mac.
On April 28th at 6pm at the Rust Library in Leesburg, you can hear Dr. Paul Peterson, past COO of Freddie Mac, who will speak with us on :
“Freddie Mac’s Role in the Housing Crisis: An Insider’s Perspective”
Paul is the former Chief Operating Officer of Freddie Mac, a position he left in November 2004 after being with Freddie Mac for over 15 years. During his tenure with Freddie Mac he gained a reputation as a “turnaround specialist” and was called upon to either fix or improve many areas of Freddie Mac’s business, eventually managing every major business division within Freddie Mac.
Paul is also the author of a forthcoming book on Freddie Mac that chronicles the forces at play in both the organization’s rise…and its fall. He will share with us some of the insights from the book and discuss Freddie Mac’s role in the global financial crisis, as well as his recommendations concerning the future of the secondary mortgage market.
A 1974 graduate of Brigham Young University, Paul received an M.B.A. from the University of Utah in 1975 and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Utah 1979.
Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Paul was the president of Market Street Mortgage Corporation, the chairman and chief executive officer of Cal America Savings and Loan, and a financial economist at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.
He is currently the managing partner of Loyalty Ridge LLC, a real estate investment company. He and his wife, Sara, are the parents of six children, and live in Leesburg, Virginia.
